Matcha Thin

A step-by-step illustration on how to brew the perfect ceremonial matcha — ‘usucha’ (thin) preparation by swimmy matcha.

Serving size: ~43ml/3fl oz

Add/sift 3 bamboo spoon of matcha into a bowl 

Approximately (~3g)

Wet with a little water (~25ml/0.85oz)

Use ~60C/140F (not boiling) soft, filtered water

Massage into a smooth paste

Apply gentle pressure to break up clumps

Add ~10ml/0.33oz of remaining water

Swirl/Mix until consistent

Whisk to create a frothy layer on top (optional)

Sip up & Zen down
